Reiki practitioners believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness. Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki Ryoho, the most current form of Reiki, in 1922. However, people have practiced Reiki for about 2,500 years. Many medical professionals that focus on mental well being and treat trauma, pain, and anxiety use Reiki as an effective form of treatment and during pre/post surgery to reduce stress and accelerate natural healing.

About Reiki Practitioner Level 1 Certification Course
In Reiki Level 1 training, you will be initiated into the healing practice of the Usui Reiki system and learn how to use Reiki energy to heal yourself! Reiki Level 2 is a comprehensive course that gives you a deeper understanding of Reiki healing energy and techniques to use Reiki in providing healing for others. Prerequisites
Usui Reiki Level 1 and 2 Trainings are offered together over one weekend. They are designed to be taken together and are extremely beneficial to your ability to be of premium service to yourself and others in the Reiki modality. An integration or wait period between these two levels are not required. Anyone currently attuned to Reiki Level 1 are encouraged to sign up for this comprehensive training to receive their Level 2 certification. You will strengthen what you already know and are guaranteed to learn something new.
Attunement and Certification to Usui Reiki Level 1 and 2 (by any teacher) is required to enroll in Usui Holy Fire III Karuna® Combined Masters Training.

Yes! Depending upon the training you sign up for, you can earn any of the following accredited certifications:

Trainings typically have a 30 day gap in scheduling between Level 2 and Masters Training. If you are newly certified and attuned by a different teacher, you are welcome to enroll in my Combined Masters Training to keep your momentum going and to continue opening doors for yourself. We can discuss this on a case by case basis, so please reach out to ask any questions, share your concerns, and gain a deeper understanding on my personal reasoning for jumping into a Masters Program. You know what is best for you, and I am here to help you honor your process. I do suggest that one takes the proper time and space to deepen their connection to their Masters Level Training before going on to teach Reiki.
Unlike other healing arts, Reiki is passed from master to student through a Reiki attunement that allows the student to connect to the Universal Reiki Source. The attunement allows you to become a vessel of Reiki, and move Reiki energy for yourself and others. Receiving a Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience, as your energetic pathways are opened by a Reiki Master. This energetic opening allows the Reiki energy to flow freely through your body to impact your health and the health of others.
The feeling of a Reiki attunement is a personal one, but students often report that they feel a lightening of their body and tingling from their head to their toes as the Reiki energy pathways are opened.
The opening of an attunement has the effect of enhancing other energetic healing and channelling pathways, and students report that receiving an attunement causes increased intuitive awareness, and enhances any innate psychic sensitivity.
Once you have been attuned to Reiki, the Reiki energy will flow through you for the rest of your life. Your ability to channel and move Reiki energy remains with you, as the gift of Reiki follows you and is always available to help you.
Try doing the following activities to improve your experience the day of your training. Begin three to five days prior.
- Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. You will be surprised how much energy you will use the days of your training. Stay hydrated to keep yourself feeling balanced.
- If you are on medications prescribed by your doctor, continue to take them.
- Eat whole plant-based foods. Whole foods offer the highest amount of energy and nutrients for your body. They are also high in vibrational energy making it ideal for energy work. It is recommended to avoid meat if possible.
- Do not drink alcohol. Alcohol affects the nervous system and should be avoided.
- Reduce the amount of cigarettes you smoke, if you are a smoker. This will help your body be in a healthier state for spiritual work and cleansing.
- Avoid excessive stimulation from television, internet and smartphones.
- Reduce or eliminate your consumption of caffeine as this affects your nervous system.
- Do not engage in activities that deplete your energy. You will know best what these activities are for you.
- Meditate. Find 5-20 minutes each day to meditate in silence and be in nature.
- Get restful sleep. Sleeping well will help reduce fatigue and tiredness allowing you to have energy and be fully present for your trainings and attunement.
- Eat a healthy breakfast the days of your training. You’ll have a big day ahead of you and will need the energy!
Your Reiki attunement is the beginning of a spiritual cleanse. During this time, you may have emotional releases such as laughter and crying to feelings of anger and frustration. The emotions you may experience will vary depending on what you need to release. Your physical body may respond to the attunement by releasing old muscle and joint pains, stomach gurgles or elimination, headache, fatigue, etc. The effects may also be more subtle or none at all. Know that no matter what you experience, it is all part of the process of self healing, nothing has gone wrong, and you are completely safe.
Be gentle with yourself and do activities that recharge your energy and nourish your body. For instance, take hot baths with essential oils, get a massage, pamper yourself with healthy foods and spend the day at the lake or park. This is a time to reflect and surrender. Embrace the process. The door for Reiki healing to take place has been opened and with it comes peace, abundance, health and happiness. Welcome to the path of a lightworker!
